📊 Drainage Analysis Results
This map displays simulated surface water flow patterns overlaid on a hillshaded Digital
Elevation Model sourced from AWS Terrain Tiles (Terrarium encoding, ~19
m/pixel at zoom 13, ~5 km coverage). Switch to the 3D Terrain tab for an oblique
perspective view. Flow directions are computed using the D8 algorithm on a 100×100
subsampled grid with Planchon–Darboux depression filling. Runoff estimates use the Rational
Method (Q = C × i × A). Hover over the KPI cards above for
detailed metric descriptions.
Stream Network — Modeled channels where surface runoff concentrates, identified
by upslope contributing area exceeding a flow accumulation threshold.
Watershed Boundary — The total land area that drains to the identified outlet
point at the DEM grid boundary. Delineated by upstream tracing from the outlet.
Flow Path — Primary drainage route traced from the analysis point downhill to the
watershed outlet, following steepest-descent flow directions.
Pooling Areas — Zones of high flow convergence where water accumulates,
indicating potential ponding, flooding, or drainage infrastructure needs. Circle size reflects
relative accumulation.
